I watch a lot of The History Channel in my spare time, and a lot of of the shows on The History Channel cover World War II.
With all of the footage that gets shown of the war, I always wonder if that guy who just walked by the screen was my grandpa. Or I wonder if the bombs being dropped in a certain scene where released by my great uncle. Considering all of the older folk that I know who fought, There is a pretty good chance I’ve seen them from time to time, and never had a clue. Hell, up until a year or so ago I never knew that the guy second from the right grabbing the flag with both hands in the photo to the left lived a mere fifteen miles away from me.
